This customer is a large-scale manufacturer of passenger car radial (PCR) tires. The factory has a stable output of 1,500 tires per hour, with an annual production of 6 million PCR tires. For a long time, poor tire surface finishing after repair has been the main issue affecting the company’s product quality and pass rate.
The factory used traditional tire finishing products before and faced many common problems. These products required on-site dilution with water, which easily led to uneven mixing. Tires that have been patched up usually end up with mismatched matte shades and noticeable color gaps, traditional finishing fluids have weak bonding force with rubber surfaces so the coating layer will peel off quickly and cannot fully hide surface blemishes, these products need to be diluted before use and tend to drip and run while being applied, which leaves stubborn marks on wheel rims, creates a large number of defective tires and causes unnecessary waste of raw materials.
